Over the years Ambassadors East had accumulated a lot of bicycles that were never used, just gathering dust and taking up space in the parking garages. A few months ago, all owners and renters were asked to "register" their bike(s) with the office. After a period of time, those bikes that were not identified by someone were considered abandoned.
We finally had the abandoned bikes removed today by
“Jack the Bike Man”, a local non-profit organization which provides education, guidance and training to at-risk children of migrant workers and their parents. The bicycle repair program is one of their programs (web site: JackTheBikeMan.org).
Jack seemed very appreciative of getting the bikes. He
said one of them was over 50 years old! We donated approximately 30 bikes. Some of them were in dire need of help. Click HERE to view some pictures taken by Jean Le Grys of the removal "ceremony".
Thank you Jean for the pictures ...........
